CENTAUR 6: OBJECTIVES

Purpose

The goal to go anywhere in amphibious seaplanes is so attractive that operators commonly pay about twice as much per seat-mile than in landplanes. These aircraft have the potential to;

Yet current amphibians suffer severe penalties. They are extremely prone to corrosion in salt-water, are heavily constrained by wave-height and can not access most water-side facilities because of their wing-spans. They push large bow waves, are heavy and require large engines and much fuel to fly limited payloads.

It is because of these limitations that Warrior has developed the Centaur 6. Nothing complicated. Nothing technologically frightening.  Just a well considered configuration that uses the technologies that have doubled the average top speed of fast ferries and smashed every significant offshore sailing speed record in the last 20 years.

The Centaur 6 uses only two-thirds the power of a standard DHC-2 Beaver on floats. Yet it has similar cabin volume, will cruise 12 knots faster, and for trips longer than 400 miles, will carry a larger payload. The Centaur 6 can fill almost every role that a Piper Saratoga, Mooney, Bonanza, Cessna 206 or Cirrus SR20 will.
